What is the Application Checking Service?

UK immigration demands meticulous attention to detail, and a single oversight or missing document can lead to a costly refusal or a long delay. Our Application Checking Service, also known as a document checking or visa application review service, is a final professional audit of your prepared application and documents before they go to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

You keep full control of your application, while an experienced IAA-regulated adviser gives it professional oversight and practical, written feedback. It is a pre-submission review, not full representation, and it is designed to strengthen your application before you apply.

What we review

Your check is a thorough, structured review of:

  • Your completed draft application form, checked for accuracy, consistency and completeness
  • Supporting documents, reviewed against Home Office (UKVI) evidentiary standards and the Immigration Rules
  • Legal or factual inconsistencies that could weaken your application or lead to a refusal
  • Written feedback setting out corrections, missing items and areas to strengthen
  • Answers to the specific questions and concerns you raise

What we check, by route

Different routes stand or fall on different evidence, so your check is tailored to the route you are applying under. For example:

RouteWhat we pay closest attention to
Spouse / partner (Appendix FM)The financial requirement and how it is evidenced, relationship and cohabitation evidence, accommodation, and the English language requirement
Skilled WorkerThe Certificate of Sponsorship, the salary threshold, English and any maintenance requirement
Settlement (ILR)Continuous residence and the 180-day absence limit, the Life in the UK Test, and your qualifying period
StudentThe CAS, financial (maintenance) evidence and the English requirement
VisitorFinancial evidence, your ties, and a clear, credible purpose of visit

Whatever your route, we cross-reference every detail against the current Immigration Rules and UKVI evidentiary standards.

Application checking: frequently asked questions

How much does application checking cost?

The Application Checking Service starts at a fixed fee of £450 for a single applicant with a straightforward case. The quote increases with the complexity of your case and any additional applicants, such as dependants included in the same application. If you later instruct us for full representation, that fee is deducted from your representation quote.

How long does the review take?

You receive your structured written report within 5 to 7 working days of us receiving your draft application and documents.

What does the checking service include?

A thorough review of your completed draft application form and supporting documents against the current Immigration Rules and UKVI standards, plus a written report setting out corrections, missing items and how to strengthen your submission.

Can you check my spouse or partner visa application?

Yes. For spouse and partner applications we tailor the check to Appendix FM, paying close attention to the financial requirement and how it is evidenced, your relationship and cohabitation evidence, accommodation and the English language requirement.

Can you check my ILR (settlement) application?

Yes. For settlement we focus on continuous residence and the 180-day absence limit, the Life in the UK Test, your qualifying period, and the documents that most often cause ILR refusals.

Can you check an application I have prepared myself?

Yes. The service is designed for DIY applicants who have completed their own application and want a professional check before they submit, so you keep control while gaining expert legal oversight.

Will you submit my application for me?

No. With the checking service you keep control and submit yourself, using our written feedback to strengthen your application first. If you would like us to prepare and submit it for you, choose our Full Representation Service.

Is this the same as an administrative review?

No. This is a pre-submission check carried out before you apply, to reduce the risk of refusal. An administrative review is a separate process available after certain refusals, and is not part of this service.

Can I upgrade to full representation?

Yes. If you decide you want us to handle the whole application, we deduct the checking fee you have already paid from your representation quote.

Who is the checking service for?

Applicants who have prepared their own application and want the reassurance of a professional legal check before they submit, without full representation.

What do I need to provide?

Your completed draft application form, your supporting documents, and a list of any specific questions or concerns you would like us to address.
